Dear All,

I am sorry to report our inaugural visit to the Bushey Sports Club was deemed a failure. Section Secretary Chris Hounsell arrived at the venue bright and early last Sunday morning and was confronted by car park full to bursting of parked cars. Several hasty mobile phone calls around the Section were made and our monthly meeting went ahead, albeit back at our usual haunt in the car park at South Mimms Services on the M25.

With the parking issue, the sports club on a Sunday morning is obviously not an ideal venue for us to meet. We will therefore have to find another more suitable venue. Please watch this space!

Our next meeting, on Sunday 27th April, coincides with the national ‘Drive It Day’ event, a day set aside each year to encourage owners of classic cars to get out and drive their cars. With this in mind, we will meet as usual at South Mimms on the 27th and then depart promptly at noon in our cars for a short tour of the surrounding countryside, finishing at a local cafe for refreshments. There is no requirement to book, just arrive and drive!

The Section will once again be displaying cars at the Enfield Pageant of Motoring over the Whitsun Bank Holiday Weekend (Sun 25 & Mon 26). If you would like to display your car with us please contact me without delay.

The date of our June meeting clashes with the VOC National Rally and BKV. We therefore hope to see everyone at Hatton Country World.

We have booked a display area at the Kimbolton Charity Classic and Country Fayre on Sunday 13th July. Please contact me as soon as possible if you would like to participate at this event. Club car entries are £8.00.

Safe motoring!

Stuart
