Hold the read button on the stalk and press the rear foglight button 3 times

Alternatively...

Ignition on (engine can be running or not), hold in Read button, press rear fog light twice, release Read button. The message window will show whether there are codes set or not; scroll through each module by pressing the Read button.

You need the headlights turned on to do it that way don't you?

Maybe it varies a little over the model years, but on my 2001MY you can do it with two presses of the foglight button, with no headlights on. The only difference that three presses seems to make is the the foglights will be on whilst you're checking the DTCs, and headlights don't make any difference either way - mind you my DRLs are turned off, too.

I reckon some of the procedures are really magical incantations. I'm going to see what happens if I sacrifice a chicken on a full moon whilst saying three Hail Marys backwards with the ignition in position II - it might finally reset my Climate Control module properly.
