Default Upper Torque engine mount.

Need to replace the upper torque engine mount - its badly cracked.

I don't want to go poly bush or just replace the actual bush with another rubber one.

Do I pay £ 60ish for a genuine Volvo bit
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-V...UAAOxyqKVRhdEn

or

£ 30ish for a bit that looks similar

Tempted to go cheap, but only too familiar with maxim " buy cheap buy twice"

Cheers
Bob

The fake replacement would likely be made with cheaper rubber.

The original one in my car was replaced @ 60,000 after 104 months of service.

The poly one I installed @ 84,000 adds only a touch of occasional vibration.

If the Atlantic wasn't in the way I'd give you my rubber insert as it was in service only 24,000 miles.

Any friends traveling to NYC?

Smile cheaper alternatives

There are definitely some cheap but not quite the same parts out there, i saw a lower torque rod that is another mount that wears out on the p2 D5 on the bay, looked the same but when having a look at it (and having had a new genuine part to compare with i found it was more like a solid mount and totally un suitable)

Bushes are there to provide some limited movement but not transmit too much vibration, so the grade of rubber and design is all part of this, my advice is stick to original parts, have you tried looking to see if companies like lemforder list the same mount?

Corteco, Hutchinson, Lemförder are decent OEM suppliers for different engine mounts.

Go poly, but choose a touring compound (usually blackmore dark blue) so its no stiffer than standard.

I personally don't see a reason to polybush the upper mount.
The new design is a floating block of rubber so it doesn't crack and lasts a long time.
