Default V70 2001 Boot lock motor relay

The boot lock motor / relay unit has failed on my 2001 Mk2 V70.
The wiring to this original unit connected by way of a 4 pin plug-in connector.
I've purchased a replacement boot lock motor/ relay unit from Volvo dealer but it has been designed to have a 2 pin wiring connector plugged in to it.
The dealer insists it is the correct replacement part but could give no advice on fitting it apart from speaking to one of their mechanics.
A mechanic said in his experience he's only fitted completely new boot lock systems. Even so he couldn't remember any incompatability issues between the plug-in wiring connector
Have I been given the wrong part?
Has the original motor/relay unit been replaced by an upgraded part and if so how do I modify the wiring?
All help appreciated.

Send me your registration number in a pm and i can look up the correct part number for you, and should be able to see if there have been any modifications to the part.
