Default no power to number plate lights

Having had a thorough search, I can't find any threads specific to the C30 having this issue. The car is a recent buy. I removed both lights and checked each connector to verify there is no power. Also removed the inner rear plastic vertical trim but there was no obvious sign of the loom.

Unlikely though it seemed, I also checked the top rubber gaiters on the hatch for broken wires but found none. Any common issues? Thanks.
