(2008 Model) Rear Armrest (with cupholders)
Hi folks,
Bit of dippy first post I'm afraid but we're just about to pull the trigger on a secondhand (2008 model) XC70 D5 SE but like most models it doesn't include an armrest in the rear . Do you think it's possible to have one retrofitted? Our elderly Mum sometimes comes on holiday with us and... a) it helps her stay upright in the back b) it's good for her to have somewhere to put her cuppa when we have a picnic in the car Anyone had an armrest retrofitted? Thanks in advance. |

i would say yes it is possible, i would expect a dealer to be able to do it but it would probably cost a fair bit. has it already got an armrest with no cup holders? if it has it should just be a case of changing the armrest, if it hasnt then it would need an the whole seat back replacing.

yes it is possible to retro-fit it but it isn't available as an accessory kit. consequently the only way to do it is to buy all the necessary standard parts.this will involve replacing the centre part of the back seat. i've just checked and the parts alone come to £320 plus vat. so definately do-able but rather expensive unfortunately

It really doesn't have a central armrest in the rear? I though all cars did now! My s60 does, and both the older V70s did. Or am i talking about a different part?

The V70 and XC70 do not come with it as standard. Although I think the option when new is only something like £35

No the armrest doesn't come as standard anymore I'm afraid.
We're trading in an old V70 XC AWD and a newer S60 and they both have rear armrests so I was really surprised to see that there wasn't one. They give you all these noncy-poncy gizmos as standard yet they don't provide an armrest! As davek100 says, it's only a £35 optional extra at build. |
