Default Window closes then opens agains

6 months ago I had a problem with the drivers window in my 2005 XC90 "auto" closing when I hold the button for a few seconds, but then opening again when it gets to the top. If I hold the button up then it stays at the top.

Was in for a service and the dealer said they re-calibrated it.

My local dealer in Reading, UK has since closed.

Can I calibrate it myself without any special equipment ?

Thanks :-)

1) fully roll down all the windows
2) fully roll up the windows and hold all 4 buttons in the close positions for 7 seconds after all windows have closed.

Sync complete :-)

Thanks, but it didn't work.

I tried with ignition on and position II.

I ntoiced that the drivers window doesn't fully open either (1/2 inch or so from the bottom).
This was the same last time.

Any more ideas?

Hi

I have a similar problem to the one you posted about your windows shutting. Did you find out what the problem was??

There is a dealer calibration procedure that can be done within VIDA - perhaps worth asking next time the car is in for work.

i work for nation windscreens and what we do to reset 1 touch is
ensure all doors are closed.
lower window and remain on the switch for 5-10 sec
raise the widow and do the same , should be reset.
has the window been replaced and not fitted correctly??

I tried all the quick fixes for resetting the window closure as my XC90 had the same problem and found i wasted over two hours of my day off as none worked. Take it to Volvo who can reset the memory in minutes.

P.s if you do find one that works let us all know for next time!

Funnily enough mine is going in for it's 60K service in a couple of days and yet again I've asked them to re-calibrate it. About the 4th or 5th time they have don it. Each time it lasted only a month or two. Don't use it much, so haven't bothered to chase it.

If it keeps happening after a calibrate, then the issue must be with the window guide mechanism. On volvo's there is a cheap and small plastic guide at the bottom of the regulator rail which wears down.
