spare wheels are usually the steel wheel type as the alloy wont fit in unless you dont mind the floor part that covers the spare sticking upwards

i have the BBS alloys and my spare is a steel 15" but as the profile of the spare is a lot large than the alloy with tyre when mine has been on the car seems well balanced. it is a spare after all and only tempory. i know it illegal to run diff sized wheels and tyres on the same axle but if it gets you out of a sticky dilema whos complaining.

Mine#s got a 15" spare in the boot, and passed MOT (16" alloys).

This being said tho, the previous owner had it MOT'd for me, and with some of the issues i've found i dont reckon it should have passed at all lol

i didnt think the spare was checked any longer at the MOT.
considering a Lot of "new" cars come with No spare wheel (and no can of goop either)

these "space saver" temp spare wheels are very common now so one of those would suffice, as long as you stick to the speed limit that they have on them (50mph iirc generally)

You don't have to carry a spare tyre. If you carry a tyre in the boot it only has to be be legal if it's used on the road, which is why it's not checked for the MOT. You can carry what you like in the boot, including odd wheels if you wish!
