C30 D2 2011 Injector Clamp problem
HELP. I have a C30 with the 1.6 115bhp D4162T engine. Just after starting on Sunday morning a strange cuffing noise and on investigation one of the injector retaining clamps had snapped and the injector is lifting slightly. So far so good with a bit of work I identify the correct part number for this item is 31657998 but when I look at the picture of said item it bears no resemblance to mine. Also the removed clamp is stamped with the Suzuki logo. I know the engine is the PSA unit and is across many marks but I cannot find a clamp which resembles mine. The car has always been main dealer maintained but due to lock down I cannot contact them and so I am stuck. I would order the Volvo item but its fork are tapered where the installed units are practical parallel. Am I worrying unnecessarily or just missing something, I need the car for work really so could do without waiting till the end of the shut down. I have tried to upload photo's with no luck so far but I will try and sort this out.

Hello Karmann
Are all four clamps the same or has this "Suzuki" one been substituted to make do? 're posting images, create an account with imgbb, upload the image then copy the "embedded" code underneath,it will start with https and have the letters "IMG" within then paste it into the text box on your post. To speed things up today I've Sent you a message on here with my private email address. Send an image to that and I'll post it up asap. Cheers Dave |

Thanks Dave I have sent on the pics as suggested, but also as you highlighted one of the clamps is of a completely different type. The problem with that one is I cannot find anything even partially resembling it.

Hello Phil
I've replied to your email. Your images will not open on any of my devices. Is the odd one the broken one? |

Thanks to Dave for putting up my pictures. As described at the start the clamp is broken across behind the bolt hole and as also mentioned, I have 3 of this type and one random type which I also cannot identify (as shown in the pics). I am really only looking to confirm what I need, as the engineer in me cringes at the fact that there is not a single part no. for this duty. I have had all sorts of vehicles with differences due to the day of the week or even the shift they were produced on (mostly Italian) but I didn't expect it on a 2011 car.

I think this is the correct one
https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...valve/1072015/ Bear in mind that the bolts are torque to yield type with tightening sequence being 4nm then 65 degrees. Will be best to fit new bolts. There is a a good chance old bolts have been used and due to being overstretched have loosened off leaving the clamp loose allowing engine vibration to cause the fracture. Cheers Dave |

Thanks a million for all your help Dave. Do you think that I should change the seals etc on the injector as it came loose? Thanks for the advise on the bolts as this makes sense that threads will stress. 4Nm is only 2.95ft/lbs so I guess the 65degs makes up the rest. Would you use thread lock?

New seal ? Yes, you are already in there and the new bolts are single use. Thread lock? Not on a torque to yield bolt, no. Did you manage to order the new parts? |
