Default C30 Parking Sensors

Firstly a bit of background. The C30 is my wifes car, and has just been given to her by my father who has given up driving. 2009 D5 Se Lux with 20k miles on the clock and a full dealer history. He even had the cambelt changed because of the age. lovely little car, almost concourse condition. It has rear and front parking sensors which appear to have been fitted aftermarket. Mounted low down, almost below the steering wheel is a tiny black button with a red Led which appears to be part of that system.
Tonight, I borrowed the car and realised the sensors were operating in traffic. Cars approx 10 feet behind and 15 feet in front were triggering the warnings. The red light in the black button was coming on. Took me a while to figure what was happening but I got there in the end. The problem is we dont have any sort of insturctions for this system. I had it some years ago on an XC70 but cant remember what on earth to do with it.

I would assume that someone out there has the same system, so if anyone can give me a heads up on the instructions, I would be eternally grateful.

Pressing the button did stop this from happening, but the rear sensors continued to work as they should, the fronts not at all. Not sue if its something to do with this button but I have also been reading about false triggers from wet tyres. It was chucking it down when this happened.

I would take them off and do away with them . It is pretty easy to park a C30 :-)

Well, yes, I agree. But i do beleive that if they are fitted, they should be A) working and B) the user knows how to work them. Thing is, Im a 30 year artic man and can park an artic easier than this thing, vision is rotten in a C30, and besides, its madam driving it, not me Sorry chaps, but Im a Shogun Man.
