So I'm thinking of wiring the Parrot so it only switches and works through the drivers door speaker - forcing me to turn off the music when on a call but I'll still get the Sat Nav and Park assist sounds.

Presumably if you do use the AUX input you might not hear the phone ring if you have say a CD on loud?
I reckon you will have connectivity for the phone ie via B/T as I have it on my 58, its the connection to AUX (that is via the headphone socket) that I want to convert.

I will place an order soon for this (and other LED bits) and have it delivered within Sweden to then pick end of Feb, will install and let you know how it goes come early March.

Only snag at moment is that they do not post to UK (strange). If anyone is interested to get this kit later then I might be able to assist with a group buy for members.
Just fitted this to the V70 and its brill, wireloom on my car not like on the video but worked it out eventually (black/purple as on video but a red/green for live) Easy to install but broke a connector so had to pop across to Halfords for a new one. Overall very pleased streams perfectly into the AUX from the phone. Means I can charge the phone at the same time now (iphone with only the lightning port...). Recommended at the price.

I've got one now and there is no BT. I also understand that it is not possible to retrofit the factory one either as it's got the phone module and Volvo On Call.

Hence I'm looking at Parrot and Bury kits. I've got nearly 800 contacts so need to be able to select them from a touch screen (and not the phone obviously...)

I have been looking for one of these solutions since I got my V50 (2006).
Both the VParts and VolvoTech options look good.
Are they actually the same company or partnered? The VolvoTech (based in the Netherlands) site sends customers from Scandinavia to the VParts site.

I was wondering if:

1. anyone has installed one of these in a V50 MY2004-2006 and was it straightforward?

2. how do you pair your device with this bluetooth receiver? If it is always ready to pair, then what is to stop someone hijacking your stereo when you're in traffic and starting playing something awful?

Thanks!

1/ think my kit was made for the V70 but might have same bits installed behind the hand brake allowing a simple install. You disconnect the headphone socket in the armrest cubbie and use this connector for the kit, probably identical in both cars. Look at the online video.
2/ pairing is easy, in my case show up a 'Vparts' and pair right away. Suppose some saddo might hook up if you sit still but how likely is that.

Hi All.

I've just bought a 2011 XC70 with Premium Sound - it has phone handsfree bluetooth, but no music streaming. 3.5mm Aux and USB sit inside the centre console.

My recent cars have all been brand new, so I've lost touch a bit with some of the slightly older tech.

Can I just check on the latest recommendation for something that will add bluetooth streaming? I don't want anything with hands free calling - the car already has that. Is there some kind of intermediate solution that allows me to control my iPhone with the steering wheel controls (AVRCP?), but doesn't have extra hands free microphone etc?

I've tried a cheap bluetooth receiver going into the 3.5mm aux, but it doesn't communicate any steering wheel control. Am I limited to devices that use CD Changer protocols? Suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Ben.

I've solved it - just needed to use an iPhone lightning cable directly into the USB port. Steering wheel controls and track names all working. And better quality than bluetooth!

Ben.
