V90 T8 Electric range doesn't change
Hi
New french owner of a V90 T8 here (for 1 week...). I plug the car every night and so far it's working as expected - I drive between 50 and 60km a day, highway and city with lot of traffic, and I think I 'm going to get better MPG with it than with my previous BMW (Diesel). I will have to check this deeper. Just one thing bothers me: whenever I start the car in the morning, battery fully charged, the car shows a electric range of 34km. Then I drive for 10 km (Hybrid or Pure, no difference), and it still shows between 31 and 33km. When the battery is empty (generally after 40 km of mixed drive), it still shows a range of 31km. I see the battery gauge itself going down, but only from the 100% fully charged to a bit more than the 3/4 of the gauge. I've never seen the gauge under 3/4. The indicator in the iOS application reflects this jauge exactly. Is that a common issue ? It's going to the dealer again for this sometimes in the next weeks, but I'd like to know if he's going to say "first time I see this" or "known problem, we have to download the update #xyz". thanks Last edited by harpo; Nov 10th, 2018 at 12:55. |

I had this problem after last software update, range and gauge was wrong, and pretty well stuck, but car worked correctly in every other way.
I took it back, and garage looked, reported, thought they might have fixed, and had not, so took it back again, and that part of the software was removed, and reinstalled to the previous version, and it has worked fine since. I am still waiting for an updated version of software, but I get the impression it will take months. There were other cars reported with same fault. Mine is an XC60 T8 MY19 |

OK, thanks. I didn't know they could just partially revert an update. I will tell them, hopefully they're already aware of it
(They updated the whole software *during* delivery, as the car reported a failure when I took it the first time to get out of the dealer. They quickly excused, updated everything to latest available software, and gave it back to me. No other failure [yet!], apart this thing that bothers me a bit). I will report here when they solved it! |
