Default Issue with DiCE

Appreciate this probably isn't V50 specific but...

I've purchased a DiCE unit and have tried to get it going today. I plug it into the ODB port and start the car. Most of the lights flash for 1-2 seconds and then it settles in to the green and orange lights flashing.

On various videos online it says to wait for the lights to settle before plugging into to the computer and firing up VIDA. Is that right? I've left it for 10+ mins just now and the lights continue to flash.

Am I just being stupid?

same as Andy - never paid much attention to lights. Those flickers in the footwell but laptop always recognise DiCE unit and connects to it.
usually its like 30secs between connecting to OBD port and connecting Dice to USB.

Have you got the key in POS II?

Another issue with VIDA/DICE, I went to use mine yesterday and got a message saying 'Object doesn't support property or method 'DiagnosticAllowed' and the box to select the DICE tool is not showing properly (see image).

Anyone know how to sort this? It takes ages getting this fussy software working on Windows 10 and don't really want to waste tomorrow rebuild my Linx machine again

exactly that
you could check when you do windows updates next time and NOT select the .net framework ones and avoid the issue.

me , i built a w7 pro/64 laptop Just for Vida/dice use and turned windows update off, disabled Wifi and didnt bother with any av software as all it gets used for is Vida,,, and have a VM machine copy on there as well

Sadly, that didn't work, tried a few other things as well before just throwing in the towel. Fortunately a rebuild didn't take too long and I'm all back up and running on Windows 10 with VIDA/DICE

I used to use a VM but got fed up with the slow performance on something under powered like the Linx. It runs much better natively on Windows 10 and I've written a script now to disable updates so shouldn't have issues in the future.

This particular machine is only used for Volvo stuff so not bothered about security updates.
