Default Voltage regulator on c30 1.6d

Hi. Does anybody know where i can find the voltage regulator on my 2009 C30 1.6d? Im having a few issues and i think this is the root.
Ive had a dash message saying “EL VOLTAGE TOO HIGH” (it may of been current). And my headlights seem to flicker slightly when idling. Im not sure if this is battery or alternator or regulator related. But as the car ran fine and has always started first time im inclined to believe the regulator is the problem.

Thanks for any help

Jason

Most likely the regulator on the alternator which is letting it overcharge the battery.

You're going to have to get the alternator out anyway so may as well fit a new one IMO, as these are weak points on our cars in general. 2 birds 1 stone.

Brilliant. Thanks alot for your advice. Ive done exactly that. Swapped the alternator for a new one and everything is fine. Except i seem to need an “alarm service” now. Ive read that this can be solved by just swapping out a battery in the alarm module, so the list goes on!!

Thanks for your help.

Yep, this sounds to me like the battery in the siren module has gone/is getting flat.

Don't go to Volvo for one as they will just try to charge you for a new module, they are technically sealed units but you can if you're fairly DIY experienced open them yourself and re solder a new battery in place.

It's £10 vs over £200 so worth doing.
