Default 1998 Volvo V70 Torslanda for sale (1 of 33 registered)

Hi all,

I recently acquired a 1998 Volvo V70 Torslanda that I used as a stopgap car. Had always wanted to own a Mk1 V70 or 850 and am glad to have had the opportunity to do so within my short ownership of about a month.

The car is mechanically sound and has not given me any problems. It has done 148100 miles and recently completed a 500 mile road trip to Snowdonia with no issues.

The car has 1 month MOT (although it should not have any problems passing another) and has some service history (previous owner maintained the car himself). Just had a new battery installed 2 weeks ago.

Car has no rust but the bodywork does have some scrapes on the bumpers.

Other known minor issues include:
- Car key battery is low
- Window switch is not authentic and was meant for left hand drive car hence wired incorrectly by previous owner (the windows do however function perfectly)

Asking 1400 but open to offers for a quick sale as I need space for my new incoming car. Full V5 present. Located in Bristol.

The following link leads to a google drive containing images of the car.

unfortunately not haha - not exactly sure what it is but it's a sort of vinyl material - still very comfortable. Only offered on the base trim if I'm not mistaken and very uncommon. Had never seen it on one of these before buying this one.

Hi all, realised that I have neglected to include some important information in this listing:

The car is an automatic 10V.

MOT is until 8/12/22.

Some rock chips on bonnet.

Please do not hesitate to drop me a message if you have any other queries. Thanks.

Hi all,

I do need the car gone by the end of the week and am hence lowering the price down to 1.2k but am taking offers.

Am based in Bristol but would be able to deliver to London if taken at full price.

Thanks.

Being realistic, with one Months MOT, you need to be dropping the price to around £500 if you want it gone by the end of the week. 🤔

Agree with the above. If it will easily pass the MOT why not bung one on it as it will appeal to buyers a lot more and you should get closer to 1k for it then

I'm inclined to agree, 'amazondean, based on paying just £550 at a dealer's over six years ago for my own late Ph. 1 V70 (with 5 months MOT).

However, as the OP appears confident that the car "should not have any problems passing another", might not a better alternative for him be to run it in for one (cost c£50), whereupon - assuming a successful outcome - it could be worth twice that all day long of anyone's money. Although if time is of the essence ..... what can we know of the chap's circumstances?

Regards, John.

Hey all,

Thanks for your comments, I do appreciate the feedback / concerns.

As for my current circumstances, my new car has already come in and I do not have the space nor money to keep this one long term and rather it be re-homed to someone who can take care of it better.

I do however completely appreciate the fact that an MOT would do it good and may consider doing it if i've got the time.

In any case, I also understand I''ve been a little over-enthusiastic with pricing and am still genuinely open to taking offers.
