Default rear aerial for 240 estate

need the aerial end section for my car. broke it off on dads garage door. ive saved the mast-its fine. its the bit that is on the car i broke. heres a couple of pics to show what i mean. second one is the exact part (unbroken though! ) that im after.

i really hope someone has this! my local breaker only has the older A pillar mounted aerials as all his late 240 have already had the aerials used elsewhere

The body mounting looks very similar to the 760/960 aerial although these were electrically operated.

Hi Nick , i have one of these only difference being is the coaxial cable is shorter than yours. However it was from an estate and if the coax dont reach then a connector extension can be used.Pics below. Thanks Minty

Yes very easily, either with coax connectors or some handy insulating tapework

Exclamation Also need.

Hi, I'm also in dire need of the same piece. The coax cable goes into a moulded plastic piece, which fits into the larger metal grip thing... It's the plastic piece that normally snaps... This piece can be seperated from the rest of the parts...

I really need one of these... I'm missing Radio4 too much.

Thumbs up 240 aerial repair

Don't know if this will help but :

I managed to repair my aerial by drilling out and tapping the broken bit, then inserting a piece of I think 4mm screw. Then drilled out the actual aerial and tapped it to same thread, worked ok but you need to ensure the aerial is insulated from the outer metal grounded bit by using an insulated washer. Not sure of the actual size but you will get the general principle.

I've just paid £38.20 including VAT to get the kit for the 1992 240 SE estate from Lookers, the Volvo dealer in Colchester.

Now I need to fit it ...
