Default Front springs MARKED XX

I have failed MOT on cracked front springs today. VIDA gives me a selection of different springs; the difference is in the 'marking'. Any idea what it is (For marking, see Vehicle details) and how to find out which one fits my car?

if you call volvo main dealer, ask for part number. of oem they will be specific to your chassis and engine.

Good luck getting a part number from a main agent!

Best bet is call up a Volvo dealer affiliated to this Forum (like FRF Swansea) give them your reg and they will sell you the exact springs it left the factory with (there are a few variants depending on who placed the order for the car) you'll also benefit from a small discount.

The Volvo springs aren't that expensive anyway.

Maybe it's the way you ask, Ive had part numbers, diagrams, help and support from Volvo Parts department. In truth they have been the best of any manufacturer I've dealt with (except for on dealership that was atrocious). good suggestion too though

Thank you for all the suggestions.

My Volvo dealer charged me £298 for 2 springs + all the nuts/bolts that should not have been reused.

Seemed a lot of money (could have paid £150 for 2 springs from eBay, original Volvo part, claiming that would fit my car).

At least saved some money on replacing them myself.

Too late for you ukojesita but I'll post here for those who come after. There's a build plate on the inside of the rear drivers side B-pillar that details the suspension it left the factory with; IPD-USA website has a guide on how to decode it.

I ended up replacing all shocks & springs with Eibachs & Bilsteins for similar money - corners like it's on rails but these austerity Britain roads are shaking my fillings out.

Glad you got it sorted
