Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a new car and the c30 has popped up on my list. Spotted a couple 1.6 r-design for sale locally aswell as a 2.0 r-design. Just wondering what to look out for? Common problems etc.

The R-designs are pretty neat. Be wary however after you get used to these seats there is no way back. The sound system is also pretty good, the build in carkit does work but sometimes people have difficulties hearing you. Going for an 2012 model you will always have the most recent version around. That is also a plus.

1.6d engines have some design flaws. I guess that is what you get when Citroen/Peugeot are designing those engines. Timing belt should be changed every 100k miles. Oil changes are quite expensive if you don't do them yourself I guess the dealer charges 345€ for it not sure how that translates to pounds nowadays. Speaking about oil this engine is prone to contaminate the oil with soot from the dpf which leads to increasing oil levels over time.

DPF is an nightmare to replace, correct me if I am wrong but I think in the 1.6d engine it is tied to the catalytic converter. DPF sensors are prone to faults as well.

The fuel effiecency is great however. I know you guys like to express that in mpg but I am used to l/100km. Which boils down to an average use of 4.7liter of fuel for every 100km I drive. Mostly highway though (90%).

I hope this advice is usefull
