That's a buggered battery then unless you replace the electrolyte that has leaked.
Had it happen on a sealed battery for the caravan, electrolyte leaked from the breather hole but unable to replace it as the cell plugs were sealed. 18 months service rather than the 5 years I would expect. Plus you will end up replacing the carpet. That cheap battery has turned out rather expencive. Paul. |

If It were me, I would be simply grabbing the chance of getting my money back, and buying a decent battery for a little more money. Cheap(er) usually equates to cheap.

This is why people have insurance / liabilty insurance Etc. Simply write to them explaining the situation and request their insurers details . Failing a response , use your insurers & let them recover any monies from the supplier /carrier

I would certainly not be adopting the fall back situation of notifying your insurers. If you do, you can expect a premium hike at the next renewal even if a claim is resolved as a no fault on your part. The simple fact that you have made a claim renders you a greater insurance risk.
I would avoid this route at all costs - pardon the pun. Kind regards, Austin. |
