960 fault

i got 3 litre 960 1995 saloon
emission fault light on.if i reset fault.when at idle engine hunts then stalls.this goes on for 2-3 days then emission light comes on and drives ok??anyone know what fault is

Check your codes. Probably the idle air control valve. Easy to fix. take it out and clean it with carb cleaner.
