Help! I have these dreadful (apparently) computer ECU problems - lights going haywire - no acceleration - won't change gear - then Brake Failure message when they are fine - and a host of other oddities - and then all is fine again for a while. A woman ran into me a few weeks ago and I have been quoted £800 for body repairs. The insurance company now wants to right the car off as too old (a 53 plate), but they haven't said how much they would give me. Is the car a right off? I have just had a new radiator and it is being MOT'd again next week. It has done 162,000 and is ideal as I am a Volvo lover, disabled and a three dog owner.

If I do have to buy a new Volvo, I want another 940 estate, or similar - I adored that series. How much is a fair price to pay for one of these in reasonable condition, please? Does anyone have one they might wish to sell? I need the car every day for dialysis and dog walking.

How much is mine worth for spares or to a younger mechanic! Aby ideas,, please? I live near Land's End!

I am trying not to panic!! Advice gratefully received! Thank you.

Kenneth.

it will be cheaper to fix your current car insurance company's always want to write off older vehicles and they will offer a small settlement figure. and a total loss on your policy will increase your renewal substantially

The 1st thing you should do is get the battery checked, a below par battery can cause all sorts of electrical anomlies on these cars.
