The red triangle warning light came on today following my letter yesterday

Is this the correct warning light for the potential recall?

I actually thought it was my bonnet release catch which was playing up a few months ago

The warning light will be the Yellow/Orange one that looks like a small picture of an engine.

So luckily Volvo have agreed to cover the full cost of the head removal and replacement of EGR cooler. A new inlet manifold was fitted yesterday.

I can breathe a sigh of relief now!

Only concern for the future will be a repeat of this as I don't do an awful lot of miles per year.

Just got my recall letter today.
I have no EML or other symptoms at the moment but I had 2 EGR problems in 6 months with 3K miles so I am starting to get worried now.

Mine is a Feb 2015 with 79k on the clock. The light was on when I took it in and it had been stuttering during warmup.

Full marks to my Volvo main dealer for getting it sorted.

It's great that you've had this done, but were improved parts fitted? If not, then basically the underlying problem has merely been 'reset' and might simply reappear?

It's not done yet. Only the inlet manifold replaced at this point.
Reckon it will take a week to do the repairs.

Not sure if this will be a solution or just pushing the same issue on down the line.

Maybe some others here have more info..

This will not be the actual recall action work as the recall is not launched yet ... what you had done was normal repairs which volvo may have contributed to .

Thanks Clan.

So if I am correct the new Inlet Manifold, EGR Cooler and repair to the Inlet Valves and Cylinder Head will rectify the existing damage but there is no guarantee that the same problems will not manifest in the future as a reliable fix has not been found?
