New Volvo R series appeal and the C30R
Hello
I was chatting to a friend today who is an avid R series fan. He is hugely disappointed that Volvo don't have a current R series product lineup and is also angry at the rumour that the C30R is cancelled. He has therefore set up two online petitions where he can gather names (first name is just fine!), locations and peoples comments all in one place from amidst the Volvo forum communities. This is to prove the voice of the volvo community towards wanting the R series to return and the C30R to be launched! Remember, you CAN make a difference. Volvo analyses and responds to market requests/pressure! Lets create some requests and pressure!!! Remember the C30 wouldnt exist at all if there wasnt the positive media and forum 'buzz' surrounding the launch of the SCC in 2001. As fan of the Volvo brand or dealer personnel or as a potential customer of an R series, please sign up on the following petitions. These will be forwarded to Volvo HQ in the near future. This is intended by my friend to poll the worldwide range of Volvo forums! come on! sign up if you want to appeal for an R series across the range and also the C30R (recent rumours suggest it is cancelled). The volume of signatures CAN make a difference! http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/volvoRseries/ http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/C30R |

hi there
I've just checked the website and it seems afters a new signature is added it directs you to the donate page. It's only doing this on one of the petitions and also is something new today. Don't worry though, once you add your name etc you are added to the petition all ok . Just close the window when it takes you to the donate page. No need to donate in order to get the signature online! thanks for the support! please keep adding your names, really need to show a volume of interest in these models to volvo!! |

I've signed as I think the range is really lacking a 'high' performance model and when I learnt about the C30 R I got really excited! The sound of a Focus RS with AWD and a Volvo badge plus limited production, it's a collector's dream!!

Unfortuneatly, the whole world sucks at the moment.
Heck, even BMW are loosing there traditions when there new models and engines come out. Did anyone here of a 1.4 Turbo beemer? Will do soon :/ Yes, I will sign, but the Government and there ****ing stupid tax's and economy comission bull**** or whatever will ultimately affect everyone. Including Ferrari, there new Italia (bloody handsome brute) is advertised as more economical than the current F430. "not that buyers will give a hoot about that, apart from ferrari." End of the day, we will be running around in 1litre Turbocharged and or/supercharged engines with ONLY 3 cylinders. Producing, I don't know, 2HP? Don't forget the 75MPG, though, best bit .. :/ |

Back to the original post, I'd like to see a new R range too - in fact I'd like to see Volvo back in the BTCC, but the current economic situation will probably ensure that won't happen for many years to come.

It is sad that Volvo no longer make a performance car. Im lucky to have one of the last V70R before they finished and I think they are a beautiful machine.
Volvo have tainted the R badge by sticking it onto every single model and making them R design. The new ploestar looks amazing and they should definatley make it. More importantly a new R is needed desperatly, especially for the C30 as the market is ruled by Ford, VW and Vauxhall |
