There seems to be a few of these questions on here and a fair bit of info in the tech section but i can`t pinpoint a diagnosis amongst it so i`ll try asking my own.
I`ve just inherited a G reg 740 gl 2 litre which has given various members of my family faultless service, it reaches me and wont work.

I`ve got big fat sparks { double tested by severe electric shock } and i`ve got petrol at the injector rail but she will not start.

i`ve been leaning over the bonnet all day, my back hurts and i`m fed up, any ideas ???

Rest a screw driver on one of the injectors place the handle in your ear and get someone to crank the engine. Can you here the injector clicking. Do you have access to a scope. ? use a strobe and see if the spark is happening at the right time by whiteneing the pulley marking and reading off the advance. Read the ECU for any error codes if you know how to do that. Yuo think you have fuel at the rail but at what pressure 30 / 40 psi. ? How did the car stop or did it just not start one morning. ?
