Last time it was around £200 for hotel flights and taxis, plus extra for food etc.
There is a couple who are driving, so details I could pass on. Last edited by scvolvo; Jan 13th, 2015 at 08:52. |

Fly or drive to Gburg factory if you've not been then you have seriously missed out.
Cost last time was £200 for flights, taxis, hotel, plus food extra (although this can be cheaper booking ahead) I flew from stanstead it was £70 return 1.5 hour flight. Iam not the person to ask about driving saaamont5 on vpc is organised and driving there. Rough itinerary 13th arrive Gburg 10.30am All day in Gburg and evening out as a forum or as individuals, depending on what you prefer. 14th Blue train 08.45-9.45 (around factory) Brand Experience Centre 10.00-11.30 (was crash test facility last time, plus new cars, amazing stuff) Lunch at Restaurant Varianten 11.45-12.45 Demo Centre (driving) 13.00-14.00 (driving the 2016 range of cars) This is the itinerary from Jeanette. Cost of the driving is £28 per person, which I believe covers just there costs. This would be the only cost apart from lunch, which I believe may be free also "the famous Volvo Swedish meatballs" 14.30-17.30 Volvo museum around £6 to get in. If in wrong section please move. The £28 for driving is all that is required so I can book that but I'll make a cut off date for that of mid march, depending how much notice the factory needs as this gets booked up quickly Last edited by scvolvo; Jan 13th, 2015 at 12:02. |

Very tempting offer.
It does seem to be quite a lot packed into a short space of time though. As for driving, I did it a few years ago. It's 1,300 miles (From Manchester) and took 2 full days. Ferry from Dover to Dunkirk via DFDS takes 2 hours and costs about £50 depending on the number of people in the car. The Oresund Bridge has a toll which is a cash payment of 47 Euros each way. There is a transponder pass which is cheaper per crossing but fee's mean you need to do at least 2 crossings for it to be cheaper in total. The Storebaelt Bridge in Denmark is also a toll bridge and costs 18 Euro's per crossing. Overnight stay can be free (throw up a tent in a Motorway services/picnic area) or for a small cost in a Travel Lodge type hotel. Fuel costs obviously depends on speed and how many people are in the car. Generally your looking at £300-400 roughly. Other options are the ferry from Germany to Sweden to avoid the bridges but I don't know what costs are like! The Harwich to Esjberg ferry route is now closed. |

Thanks TT detailed info there.
So for most flying would be easier and cheaper. I used Ryanair. |

I followed the same route Clarkson took in the race to Oslo. Going across the top of Holland. The Oresund Bridge is quite fantastic to drive across.
