  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

Yep, that's it. Lots of posts on this forum from others with the same fault indicating that it's usually just bad contacts, a thorough clean and you've probably got a serviceable spare part there. If you do experiment, let us know what you find? Cheers!

When I swapped mine out I poked and prodded at the old one to try to find the fault and concluded there was actually nothing wrong with it other than the contacts had got mucky over time, other times I've had contact problems just pulling the plug off and on a few times has done enough to make it work.

How I missed seeing your post at the time I'm not sure but my immediate thought was the antenna ring. it's a stock fault athough I've not been unlucky enough to experience it myself.

My main point is to say thanks for the update. it's so useful to know how a problem is resolved.
