Default Front Disks and Pads

Hi All,

My front discs and pads need replacing.

Firstly is there a way of knowing without measuring them what size disks I need? I have a 57 plate 185 D5

Secondly, where is the best place to get them from? I would like to fit them over the weekend.

Thanks

I always suggest Volvo for parts.

Ive currently got APEC on mine, with no issue, but they are less than 1000 miles in (I was away on a trip when I needed them doing asap)

Ring FRF Volvo and quote C3 for discount.

I've had original Volvo discs and pads fitted 16 months ago in the front, and 2 months ago in the rear.

Absolutely no problems whatsoever.

Volvo did the job for me.

All UK spec XC90's have the same size of brake discs (336mm).

The XC90 is a very heavy car and consequently is hard on brake components. Every month or so we get new people on the forum posting about their cars regularly warping discs and getting brake judder. Nearly always the root cause is lower quality "OE spec " "Genuine OE Manufacturer" pattern parts.

There is no better quality brake parts than genuine Volvo and if you use the dealers that also sell on the internet - they are not too expensive. Fit the Volvo parts or risk doing it twice.... when you do the job you should also strip and clean the calipers and apply rubber brake grease to the slide pins.

Thanks all.

Will be fitting genuine parts. I wouldn't trust the cheap ebay sets. Its just not worth it given how relatively cheap the genuine ones are.

Lots of the Volvo dealership network sell on eBay, dont discount them too quickly, just do your research, and dont forget FRF in Swansea and the forums discount they offer.

I was referring to the £80 sets that are on ebay not the genuine sets on there.

I've bought lots from caffyns-volvo over the years. Good service and pricing for genuine parts.
