Seatbelt Pretensioner B
Hi folks,
Having a recurring code for seatbelt pretensioner B, I managed to get rid of it for the MOT by disconnecting the battery and cleaning out the big multiplug under the seat, but a week later it's back again It's grumbling about the resistance being too high. Any tips for fixing it? Thanks |

My experience with pretensioners on another marque is that these pyrotechnics use the same line to both test and to fire the device. They just use a much lower current to test the circuit and because the current is so low for the circuit it is vulnerable to corrosion in any of the connectors through which it passes. Have you checked if there are any other connectors involved. Usually there is one to allow the device to be disconnected for removal and replacement. That would be a small dedicated connector for the pretensioner, possibly under the seat. As I said, my experience isn't with Volvo but it's worth looking for the connection to the device itself.
