Default Temperature issue

Good Morning all,

Sadly I had some sort of problem with my car this morning, first thing what I noticed (and that might be not related) was that when I started the car it sounded as when of the belts was slipping, this stopped after a few seconds and I thought that it needed to be adjusted or one of the belts replaced.
However, 10 miles into my journey I noticed that the temperature gauge hardly gone over the first mark of the display, and the heating wasn't working on the full blast as it usually does. I later on stopped at a garage and checked the coolend level which was alright, however the water in the coolant reservoir was cold not even warm. Any idea what the issue can be? Water Pump? Thermostat? Thanks for any advise!

Regards, Markus

Sounds like your thermostat is sticking open so it's allowing coolant to "escape" from the engine to the radiator prematurely, meaning the coolant doesn't have time to warm up.

Make sure you use a volvo item. Some of the pattern items are very unreliable
