Default Looking at a V70 2.4D5 SE Some advice please

Folks, just hopped over from the S40 forum as, much as its a great car, I need to swap my S40 1.9D for an estate.

I've seen a tidy looking 52 plate - 133K- V70 as above on Autotrader and need a bit of a steer on the pitfalls, plusses etc of the model. What do I need to look out for etc. on top of the usual service history and the like, of which this car seem to have plenty.

I couldn't find anything in the stickies for a buyers guide. If someone could give me a heads up or a link to a thread I'd be grateful.

Also, the car doesn't have a tow bar, which I'd like, anyone have any recommendations for a fitter in the Chelmsford Essex area or an idea of overall cost?

Thanks in advance

Bernie

There’s a couple of S60 guides in the stickies. They are more-or-less identical upto the c pillar, and mechanically the same car. S80 guide also applicable.

If it’s auto, get the car nice and hot and see if it still changes properly. Volvo say the gearbox is sealed for life, this leads to missed transmission oil changes and a short life, they can start playing up around 100,000 I think. If you buy a good one, plan on changing the oil soon afterwards (hundreds of threads on here).
They’ve got the turning circle of the titanic, this is normal.

Also heavy cars, so check for suspension knocking indicating worn bushes.
