Is the SRS red warning lamp lit?
The only thing that I know for sure can read and clear SRS fault/warning lamps is the Volvo VIDA/Dice set up.
I tried an icarsoft 906 and it didn't work for me. This was probably due to the SRS module being goosed. Point is VIDA dealt with it. I recall some high end readers clearing the lamp on the case of 'ordinary' failures, BSR and icarsoft iirc.
The usual causes of this issue are, broken wiring under seats, console and or seat wiring opened with battery still connected, breakage of wire in steering wheel contact reel.
Unlike many other cars, fixing a wiring issue will not, in general, allow the system to self reset the warning.

When you first switch on the does the red SRS lamp on the dash light up and then go out ? The one like a guy in a deckchair with a beachball on his lap.

Its not that close but I'm in Nottingham (NG5 4JZ) if you are happy to drive out here. Not about for the next couple of days though.
