looks sweet, but it is an automatic (like mine). Mine had a few less miles, and was in nearly the same condition- I paid £1100.
I think 240 prices in the UK seem to follow the following heiarchy- providing the cars are 'equal low mileage one owner FSH etc' 100% top price: GLT manual 5 speed or overdrive; estate; 80% other manual estates- with injection 70% carb manual estates and GLT saloons 60% automatic estates 40-50% DL/GL saloons I don't think that age matters that much- some people ask loads for '70s saloons, but you also see equally low mileage ones sell for a few hundred. I think '70s cars are about equal to 140's in what people are asking for them. Of course 240's don't rust as bad as 140's, so you have a better chance of getting a rust free 240, whereas all but the best 140's must have seen a welder by now. Automatics seriously seem to hurt prices. But, they seem to have been bought by the most 'careful' owners (often those who drive less than 2K a year), and therefore are often what is available to those looking for a minter. If you can stand the lower MPG, sloth and noise, there are serious bargains out there in two pedal motoring. Likewise, saloons seem to be bargains- people will pay nearly £800+ for a beater estate with a MOT, but this would also buy a seriously nice saloon. Just my thoughts, Brian Quote:

There's a bit of a cachet to the very late ones too - 92-93 SE models seem to go for a bit more, probably because they're the newest, less rusty, and seem to get some luxury goodies now and then. Funnily enough, they always seem to have more miles on average though, I seem to see a lot of mid-late 80s 240s with 100-120k on the clock, later ones always seem to be 130-150k miles. Wierd.
