Finaly solved problem
Had the cam/aux belt and vvt pulley done on friday on my 52 plate v40 1.6s got the car back and it was as flat as kate moss's chest. I posted on here a few people replied saying it could be my timing out. Car been back to garage to day it turns out it was the new vvt pulley bought from a volvo dealer had failed the ali casing had cracked. My mechanic contacted volvo there replaced the part after some disagrement say there had never known one fail. Just got the car back running like new so thanks volvo.
