Shame, was just about to get the camera out!
For reference for any people thinking about breaking their S40, i stripped a fair amount from the car, but no major mechanical components (engine, gearbox etc) and got £150 from a scrappy in Greenwich who collected it. I even took the wheels off when it was on the back of his truck |

Wow......... I get about £70-£80 with engine/gearbox in or £50 without them if I am lucky.... Do you have a contact number for him, as I need to scrap my V40

Yep it was from this website:
http://www.premierscraprecycling.co.uk/ I kept the Cat on, only because i didnt have a hacksaw here! I think that was the main thing he was after so good job i did leave it there otherwise he may have been disappointed as we agreed the price on the phone beforehand! He was also literally a mile or 2 away also so not sure if you will get less for being further away. (Thanks for the idea of breaking it btw - it was you who gave me the idea in the first place! Bit time consuming but wouldn't have got £150 for it on ebay as a whole car i dont think!! And now i have lots of goodies to sell!) Good luck with getting some good £$£ for the V40. |

Thanks for the link. Will try them out and see how it goes. Glad you are happy with breaking it. It may not be a moneymaker, but as you said, you get more out of it and you can practice working on a car. I started with my first car like you and now it has become an obsessive hobby, borderline addiction....
