Default wiper arms

Hi, been replacing wiper rubbers and just wondering if these are the correct arms. It looks as though the kink at end of arm should be to the right and not left. Wondering if someone has replaced the arm with the wrong one?

As I was going to wash my 145 in the bright sunlight I checked - and the conclusion is - I can't be sure! I have two 145s here and two 164s - and they are all different! I looked on the GCP website at the exploded diagrams and apart from listing two alternative part numbers, left and right on the car are confirmed as being different. However they don't say which is which side, and of course your car is LHD anyway...... So no help at all really.....

They look fine to me, those are the right arms. If you’re worried that the blade isn’t horizontal, remove the arm and put it back on so that the blade is where you want it. However, you might find it then clouts the A pillar at the other end of the stroke of the linkages have got sloppy.

. . . while you're here, have you been able to find an o/d gearbox?

If you do a Google image search for Volvo 144 it looks as if there are two different types of arms. One is flatter than the other. Each type when fitted normally position the blades parallel to the ground but one type positions the blades a couple of inches or so above the other type. Looks as if you have the "high" type but they have been fitted probably one spline lower than they should. The high type may well sweep a bit of extra screen close to the A pillar. I think Volvo would think that a safety improvement maybe? They don't park as neatly though.
