2001 S40 T4 Panama Yellow
Well where do I start. Not too sure what to ask so putting feelers out before I commit to sell.
As you all know the car has had gearbox problems due to fluid loss. This is currentley being overhauled and repaired. The car is currently showing 57500miles. Has always been serviced. The car will come with the gearbox overhauled and with warranty. It will also have a new clutch fitted aswell as new dual mass flywheel. The car is due its timing belts and pulley plus a service all of which will be done this month. Suspension wise it is Standard. 17" alloys in black will be left on and no lads its not the Compomotives. New rear discs and pads have just been done. Goodride brake hoses on the front thanks to Firebolt. I have added a Jetex 2.5" Cat back which isnt loud infact slightly louder than std and sounds good when warm. Hid 6000K headlights. Engine wise there is only a pipercross filter and Forge dump valve. With the addition of a sparco strut brace thanks to firebolt. The car has recently had a bonnet, and bumpers respray due to the amount of stonechips it was getting and annoyed me big time. Interior is good a mark on the arm rest on the rear due to my son with a little glue. Theres a boost gauge wedged in the dash between the windscreen and pillar. Taxed till Aug 09 Mot till June or July but will double check. Any other questions then feel free to ask. It looks a lighter yellow due to the light and my camera. It is really panama yellow.

"The car is currently showing 57500miles"
OMG my S40 T4 SE 2001 had around 54k miles when I brought it at the end of 2003, currently up to over 143k!! Agreed stunning car, if I wanted a replacement I would jump at the chance since I really like old S40 over the new models. I don't think its a good time to sell, moneys tight during the downturn + high road tax for this car & petrol prices which is resulting in high performance cars not being desirable which will affect the sale price. |

Well i fancy something different and dont like putting the miles on it with my comute to work.
IVe already sold the Tuscan and looking for either a Sagaris or 5.0 Chimaera to replace it. Going to Look at a Mazda6 MPS 4WD turbo. and maybe a saab 9-5 diesel for commuting. I was offered 3k for a trade in against a mazda6 TS GT but thought id rather sell it to a volvo chappy instead of a dealership that would ruin it.

I dont consider £210 a year road tax high and petrol well v power is only 93.9 up here lol
Should also add car has heated leather seats, cruise control, ECC which is nice and frosty when you need it.

Look mate I have always like your T4, it was well look-aftered, but I don't think it is a good idea to sell it right now, as the credit crunch impacts on the UK economy, second hand car doesn't hold its value well at the moment especially for old Volvo's. If you advertise it on autotrader right now personally I don't think there will be many people appreciate your car and it just might end up sold for 3k or less.
You know it says "Volvo is for life", just keep the car for 2 simple reasons 1) it is a quality and reliable performance car; 2) it won't worth much (S40’s depreciation is the worst) consider the money and time you spent on it. So why not just keep it for ever?!

If it doesnt get a price i like then ill keep it simple as that. Not in a hurry to sell as ive sold the rest.
Sticking it up for £3600. Money wise im not too bothered about recouping money that ive spent on it just seeing whats what.

As much as personally I'd say your car's worth the price your wanting, as with this stupid credit crunch lark chances are noone will pay 3600 for it. I'd buy a runaround mate and keep the T4. I'd love it myself just 1) couldnt afford to run it 2) insure it 3) keep my foot off the pedal so fuel would cost me a bomb!
