S60 heater not heating up
Hi guys new to the forum. I’ve got a 2005 S60 2.0t with 175,000 on the clock. The other day I went to put the heater on (I’ve got climate control) and it was blowing cold air. I’ve checked and the coolant level is fine and the pick up pipes from the engine are warm as per usual. If I crank the temperature switches to cold I can hear the flaps changing and cool air comes out from hot to cold and vice verse but when I go back to hot the temperature only increases ever so slightly.
Any idea what could be wrong? I had the heater matrix replaced a couple of years back and the symptoms I had for that are not present this time. As the weather is slowly getting colder I want to sort this one out before I have to drive around with a blanket 😔 |

Are both heater pipes at the back of the engine bay too hot to hold?
Is the small temperature sensor vent on the front of the climate panel filled with fluff?

Yea both heater pipes are too hot to hold and I cleaned out the temperature sensor a couple of weeks back (making sure not to break the sensor in the vent)

Also added to this, I only get heat when I turn off the a/c completely and set the recirculation to manual. This doesn’t seem normal as I’ve always been able to have heat with the system set to auto

Sounds like you could do with connecting up to Dice and Vida which will be able to show all the data relating to how the system is working.
It could also perform a recalibration which may be all you need.
