Default Lots of DTC Codes? What is the fault?

Hi All,
Well I have had the car to a specialist who plugged it in to VIDA and it gave the same codes i got. He says it could be the CEM but as I had taken the CEM off and found no corrosion it couldnt be 100% so really I am no better off. My next option is to have the CEM checked and repaired and re programmed.....Anyone got any suggestions on how and who I can get to do this at a reasonable cost? Any suggestions greatfully received. I have placed my original posting below. Many Thanks in anticiopation

Hi All,
I have a 2005 XC90 2.5T AWD with an LPG conversion. I have owned the car for 3 years and no problems until 2 days ago. I started the car in the morning and drove 100yards stopped at a junction and the red triangle came on and the message was "Brake system......stop " it was accompanied by "Automatic Transmission needs serviceing" "Engine System needs service" anti skid needs service" . I may have the wording wrong but I am sure you get the picture. I switched the car off and started again but it was very difficyult to start the engine would not turn over all the time. I eventually got it going and the Red Traingle gone but all the messages remained. Driving the car appears fine with the messages. Since this episode the red triangle does come on and i can eventually get the car started but with messages. The car will drive with the red triangle on but in limp mode.
I have VIDA/DICE software etc and plugged the car in its 2011a version.
These are the errors that showed up....
BCM-0094 Communication Between Control Units Communication Problems with DEM.
BCM-0100 Communication Between Control Units Communication Problems with ECM.
BCM-0109 Communication Between Control Units Communication Problems with SAS. Internal Fault
BCM-0115 Communication Between Control Units Communication Problems with SAS. Signal Missing
BCM-0148 Communication Between Control Units Wrong Configuration ID.
BCM-E000 Communication Between Control Units Communicational Problems.
CEM-1A62 Communication with ECM Control Module Signal Missing.
CEM-1A64 Communication with AOC Control Module Signal Missing.
CEM-DF17 CAN-H, High Speed Network Faulty Signal
CEM-E000 Communication with Control Module Faulty Signal.
SAS-0016 Control Module Communication Fault.
SAS-E000 Control Module Communication Faulty Communication

Now I know there are a lot of codes but I dont know where to start to look for the fault or identify which component is faulty or even where it is on the car. I have read that it could be an earth wire, battery problem corroded terminals etc but just havnt a clue where to start.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks Eric

The first step IMO is to erase all the codes, then drive the car and see what comes back.

Some of them could be historical and not a current problem.

Batteries are indeed always a cheap(ish) and reasonably often successful place to start.

I have VIDA and cleared the codes, the codes posted are the newest ones, the specialist also did this starting from fresh.
Although I can drive the car I prefer not to as it is not totally reliable. If I can isolate the problem to the CEM I am quite happy to replace/repair it but without a firm diagnosis I am not prepared to take the chance it is the CEM. Still looking for ideas as to what it is?

Get in contact with this guy, he can repair any of the Volvo modules, he may also be able to advise which one could be wrong.

Default Wont start BCM 0100 & CEM E000

Hello all, does anyone have any suggestions as to what is causing my BCM 0100 & CEM E000 codes, I now they are caused by 'lost communications between modules.

I have mirror error codes (DDM 0030 /32) and the alarm code (UEM 004) . Also CCM 0021 (Air quality). I also have CEM 1A63 which I believe is a tracking device error.

These codes have always been there

It has happend twice now, I dive the car for half an hour and it runs perfectly.
Park it overnight and next mo9rning it cranks but will not fire.

After prodding and head-scratching (but replacing nothing) it will start after a few days and runs perfectly.

I suspect a bad connection somewhere.

Until about a month ago the car weas off the road and unused for over a year.

Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Whoa! No need to shout

Most of those codes indicate comms problems between modules. I would suspect the CEM first. Is it wet? Check the under the driver side carpets. Water ingress can cause multiple problems like this. Much diagnosis required. Do NOT start swapping parts on spec!

Try deleting codes see what comes back on ,you have internal sas fault that's your contact reel
You also have can high speed errors so start off with deleting codes
Then update

Disconnect the DEM module on the back diff, then clear the faults and drive the car.

When my DEM failed (water ingress, volvodiagnostic repaired it for £100) it put loads of faults up. This was because it was causing spurious signals on the CAN network, confusing the other modules.

When I disconnected the module, cleared the faults and drove the car, the only faults that came back were for DEM communication, as expected.

Try it, very easy to do, if for no other reason than to rule the DEM out.
