Vida alternatives
While i do have a Vida, i was thinking about getting some other bluetooth obd device to leave in all the time for regular car monitoring so i could get a heads up to the beginning of any issues rather than wait for something enough to get a dash warning.
is there any alternatives and corresponding android apps that work nicely with volvos (v50 and c70) that would do the job? |

I use an ELM327 (V1. 5) dongle with the Torque Pro app.
No substitute for Vida but decent and useful.

The Car Scanner app also has a Volvo VEA profile that can be loaded, with quite a bit of information available from the engine ECU. There may be other Volvo profiles as well, but I haven't checked.
I use Torque Pro with a custom PID to do a quick check on the oil level, as I don't have a physical dipstick. |
