Cheers for the tut, installed it on my touchscreen Vaio laptop, i needed the setup file folder location, other than that its pretty much the same as installing any other downloaded (zipped) software.

However, for me "12. Restart your machine and note the Vida Icon in the Taskbar. It will have a little flag that changes from red to yellow, to green. If you hover your cursor over it, it will change from stopped to starting to running." didn't work, ie, i do not see the icon in the taskbar or the extended area either, no worries mind

Default Blank explorer screen after loading and restart

I'm running Win 7 Pro 64bit on a i5 Acer laptop with 8GB of RAM and a 500GB HD. I loaded VIDA as per instructions and carried out a restart, however the Explorer Screen remains blank. No Vida content. What is missing or needs to be done? I did load and the VIDA patch for Win 7 (x64). I am pleased that I got this far with the help from this forum.

I am one of the probably hundreds of happy and satisfied buyers of a VIDA setup from Simon (cheshireD5).

(A bit of a juxtaposition here, as anyone running Macs probably isn't happy running a Windows computer.)

For me, running Macs since '84 was going back to stone age and necessitated several "help me's" to Simon - all answered within minutes.

I can't stress enough how helpful Simon has been - certainly worth the little extra I probably paid compared to buying an old laptop off the web and having the hassle trying to get it to work. On the other hand - Simon's support is certainly worth that and more.

Listen to Simon - he's been doing this for a long time and his stellar reputation and my own experience says you will benefit by listening to him.

Of course in the end it's up to each and everyone which route to go - ready to go from Simon or go get the bits you need and do it from scratch with all the possible tribulations it might mean. Of course, some think that's the fun part of having a computer and to them I say; Have a go, but listen to Simon..

jave needs to be installed and not the latest .net, that seems to mess it up, roll back the install of .net

I have a VCX nano, I'm trying to use it with my car (03 S40)
It recognises the car, but I can't see any diagnostics. Can anyone help?

Usually you just fill in the tabs where it asks about vehicle type before the diagnostic screen becomes ungreyed

It recognises that I've got an S40, I enter the VIN and all the options, go to the diagnostics and then I can't see anything.
