Thanks. I’ll be on this on Sunday! Might try and sort the bulbs that have gone out behind the climate control temperature knobs whilst I’m at it!

You will need to disconnect the battery if you are unplugging the climate control to avoid SRS errors on reconnection (code reader/clearer required)

Took ten minutes to fix. Decided to wait for another day to look at bulbs. I also didn’t fit the microphone, I already have one behind the rear view mirror that looks like a factory fitted one. I’m wondering if I could utilise that one? It is a great bit of kit though, very happy with it. I plan to remove the head-unit again, and see if I can find a lead. I suspect at some point in time it has been used as there’s an aerial on the rear window.

For £35 I don't reckon you can do better, the sound quality is superb.

Agree - if you've been using something like this - Belkin Tune cast:

or anything similar, you'll be blown away by the quality of the sound.

I can't recommend this product highly enough. I installed it along side a dedicated hands-free Bluetooth setup for phone calls (came with the car). Both work flawlessly together. Happy boy gets to listen to his audio books and music on long drives.

Just to add to the chorus, I fitted the cheap German ebay Bluetooth adaptor recently. It’s superb...

Fitting took 20 mins from walking out to the garage to get some tools, to walking back in having tidied up. This includes disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, 5+ minutes of YouTube videos on just where to press to get the heater controls out and a quick test.

Really there is no reason not to get this.

John

And another. I read this thread after my HU850 radio gave up the ghost.. I was using an FM Bluetooth transmitter.
This is the best £35 I’ve spent on the Volvo! 20 minute job to fit (I had to unplug the sat nav as both Din ports were occupied - no great loss!)
It’s flawless to use, even the steering controls work!
Thank you for changing my commute from 6 CDs of misery back to streaming happiness!!

I just installed mine and the unit works great but it seems it's not able to relay audio from the phone during a call.

There's no audio output option on my phone so I will have to use phone's loudspeaker for that.

Also the phone buttons on steering wheel do not work. Anything I might have missed?

I have HU-850 on 05 XC70 and music is streamed from Iphone 6s.
