Default Vibration

Hi peeps.
I have developed a vibration when accelerating from 60mph .I have had new front tires and strut mounts fitted .could it be be these or the top engine mount .
C70 T5 2006.

Vibration between approximately 60 to 70mph is likely to be front wheels out of balance. If this started just after new tyres were fitted that would be my first port of call...

Had the wheels rebalance and still got the vibration .

i had vibrations at similar speeds and also when braking, turned out to be the front control arm bushings where worn

Ok..... Not wheel balancing, strut mounts or control arms.

That leaves:
Wheel alignment,
Wheel bearings,
Hub bolts
Driveshaft (aka CV Axle)
Track rods/ tie rods,
Anti roll bar bushes
Droplinks
Dampers

Less likely are subframe bushes or some issue with the gearbox.

Unless these items are obviously worn I wouldn't want to start replacing them on the off chance that one is the culprit.

If you can get the car jacked up try working through everything that moves to check for obvious signs of wear or play. If this isn't an option DIY then paying a garage to diagnose may be the best way forward.

I think I would replace the rear lower engine mount (engine 'stay') and see if that helps.

It's a cheap part and DIY-able and always a worthy bit of maintenance anyway.
