v60 auto hold?
2013 v60 manual, sometimes it appears to auto hold when pressing the brake when stopped, but cant replicate it.
Any ideas if i am imagining it?

Is this the same as hill start assist? Mines got this and it definitely works well on my steep driveway whether I drive in forwards or reverse after stopping to open the gate. Can't say it's particularly noticeable when stopping on flat road.

My 2015 V60 definitely does not have auto-hold, and I am fairly sure that it was not a Volvo feature on any model till about 2018. The hillstart assist works well but is not what is normally meant by auto-hold.
Our basic VW Golf 2018 has auto-hold as standard, and is brilliant. |

may be hill start, but basically presss the brake, and it holds the car. But can never seem to work out the exact reuirments to get it to work.

My 2017 V40 has Hill Start Assist. I don't know what ABS module Volvo use, but it's been a function in Bosch ABS units for several years now.
It's also described in Vida 2014D. HSA (Hill Start Assist) is a function to help the driver when starting on a hill. The function prevents unwanted vehicle movement from the time that the driver releases the brake pedal and presses down the throttle pedal. The function is active in position D (to prevent the vehicle from rolling backward) as well as in position R (to prevent the vehicle from rolling forward). In order for the function to engage, the incline of the slope must be at least 3%. After the brake pedal has been released, brake pressure is maintained for 1.5-2 seconds. The description refers to automatic gears, but it's transmission independent. My car has a manual box. I also have it on my 2016 Ducato - Bosch ABS again. |

Mine cut in once, when a van turned across the front of me in a gap that only he thought was there. I didn't brake, as although it was close, I judged that easing off the throttle was all that was necessary, but the car applied the brakes quite hard for a split second, then released them as the path ahead cleared again, whilst I was still moving. Clever stuff. |
