"Whinning power steering even after replacement"

Could it be something else?? Volvo have just replaced my power steering pump - however after a few three point turns it whines alot even with normal turning and the whine increases when the accelerator is pressed. Can feel the whine through the steering column too.

Could this be the pressure relief when it's on absolute full lock?

If you back out the lock a bit, does it quieten?
