Me too, but not like driving Miss Daisy as my wife says.

With the exception of one member over on the XC60 forum, I have never seen a Volvo trying to compete with an Audi, BMW or Merc on the German Autobans. They scare the sh*t out of me.
Volvo drivers are more sedate, or to quote my son, "Old F*rts".

Picked up this as a lease for 12 months in the UK. Came from BMW M4 / RS4 / 997 / Range Rover Vogue SE / X5 / Discovery etc.

Loving the car, it rides well for a truck on 22's...... I didn't get a chance to spec it. I was actually going for a Audi A6 Allroad as a lease, and when I was there to collect it they bought this out and I got it for a great price.

Anyhow, friends cannot believe I am in a Volvo, but everyone who has been in it loves it. ME TOO!!

Had it for 4 weeks. I have just come back from a 4 up, car full trip to Devon. A mix of motorway and a lot of stop / start small B roads and I am on 29.8mpg. I have the 22's and find they are not as noisy as some have suggested either.

Overall, a happy man!

Always an active forum user so hope to hang around regularly.

Yes D5. The point is larger wheels don't make any difference as contact patch is the same for 20s, 21s and 22s as they are all 275 and same wheel circumference. So OP friend can relax. It's a large heavy car so those MPGs are expected especially if your mix of driving is unfavourable.
My mix is just about the worst you can have for a diesel mpg - basically 90% driving in warm up cycle. So my mpg should be an indication of the worst case.

You can get some serious mpg boost on the motorway by pulse driving and coasting in eco mode.

That looks really good. I really pity North American friends with the mandatory orange bits in the corner of their headlights. That would just really compromise this awesome black and white look.
I will second the 22s statement - not as noisy as expected (similar to marginally better to 20s) and ride significantly better than expected.

Thanks again. Ditto about the US, the corner markers seem to ruin the lines of all Euro / Scand cars when they arrive there.
