Door card repairs
Hi all,
the lining in the concave sections of my door cards is pulling away as it shrinks. It is obviously stretched when it is assembled and with time pulls back. Has anyone found a way to get it to go back to its origional position and stick it there? Thanks, Hugh.

Hello,
There was at one time a dealer repair kit. The photo below I found somewhere on the internet , thanks to whoever set it up, shows this kit for the dark interior. The covering has detached from its foam backing. Volvo appear to let you cut the handle insert yourself. Your door panel is Oak while the insert I believe is Arena, to match the leather in the car. Volvo also stitched the panel twice vertically in certain models, all the early R's have this. Sorry I can't offer more help. Cheers Last edited by OvlovS70; May 6th, 2014 at 12:18. |

Not much help but you could just get some replacement door cards?
I've got some grey one available, again not much use to you!

door cards
Hi,
I have the same problem with mine, although mine are the dark charcoal grey ones as shown in the bottom picture. I will be following this thread with interest. I did not know that there was a repair kit for this. I might phone Volvo up to see if it is still available. I also thought about taking the door card off, drilling small holes from the back side through, without puncturing the leather skin, spraying some spray impact adhesive in, and then using a hair dryer or steam iron, heat the skin up, and using some sort of roller rollering the skin back onto the door card.

If it helps........i had the same problem on my V70 T5 `97 when i bought it. Mine was gone saggy on all four cards.
The first pic. of the OP`s card where it is saggy that particular shaped piece is fixed on the main card panel with hot meld glue! I tried to fix mine but when removing the old saggy part it pulls off all the foam which has disintegrated with age, this is the cause of it becoming saggy the foam has gone crumbly. It would of been a horrific job to do and all uneven `cos the foam would be missing. I just ended up replacing mine with black cards from an R which has stitching around this part of the card and so remains intact. As you can see my theme went black and cream which i think looks ok for me as it`s 17yrs old! All door parts are obtainable depending on code as an exchange basis.
