Today. Remembered I'd failed to put my old C70's snow chains on Fleabay since selling it last year so, dug them out, read the manual and adjusted them to fit my current C70 with 1" larger wheels.

I've diligently put them in the boot of the old C70 and never needed them once in 10 years.....

So, as the so called 'beast from the east' approaches the Suffolk coast could this be the eleventh year? and have I found the lucky charm that fends off thick snow?

Got stuck out of it because the bloody blipper decided not to work! Took the back off and wibbled the batteries and thank goodness it worked. Scared to lock the car now!

I have swapped my door handles for V70 ones, so I've lost the keyholes in the doors. For this reason, and your moment of dread, I always carry spare remote batteries in my wallet!

Now that’s a very very good idea!

Finally got a break from the rain, so I did the VW relay 99 mod, and replaced the blown bass speaker in the drivers door.

I also got the windscreen washer jets replaced so that the screenwash fans over the whole screen and not just the bottom.

The wiper relay mod really does make a difference, its nice being able to adjust the intermittant sweep. 👍👍

This is going to sound daft, especially amongst a raft of handling upgrades (and fixing my heated seats!), but I honestly believe it's one of the best mods I did for the car.

Today I replaced a perished EVAP line and whipped my throttle body off for a good cleaning. I also cleaned the TPS whilst in there. As you can see, it was due a clean!

Today I programmed my new key fob and wow wow wow what a difference! The new one has a physical click when the button is pressed AND it works from a decent distance away, not the 5-10cm range of the old one. Winner! Happy Valentine’s Day little Volvo!

New, or new-to-you? If new, where from? Mine are ancient.

Sorry new to me. I ended up using the circuit board from the original and putting it into a casing that head seen far fewer hands.
