200 Series Repair Panels
Does anyone know if pattern or original replacement spare wheel wells and scuttle panels are available for the 200 series cars?
Thanks in advance. Phil |

Spare wheel wells are readily available through most motor factors, Hadrian are one of the companys which make them but i think there may be others, certainly i've never had any probs getting them, although they usually require some 'fettling'.
Hadrian have an online catalogue www.carpanels.co.uk I expect Volvo can still supply them although i wouldn't like to speculate on the cost, but perhaps the quality will compensate for this! As for scuttle panels, i've been lucky and never needed one so i can't offer any advice, but i suspect it could be a dealer item as i've never seen them listed anywhere. Incidentally most Volvo specialists seem to be able to supply pattern panels, in the past i've had them from Braydons and others. Hope this helps Rich |

Thanks Rich, I assumed the wheel wells must be available given how prone they are, but must have missed them on the carpanels site.
I may get away with patching the scuttle, depends upon the horrors revealed when it's stripped. Any recommendations for 200 bodywork people? Phil |

Just checked the Hadrian site, the wheel wells are under the 140-series listing but its one of those parts thats common to both cars. I think other manufacturers supply them because i've had sets for two cars and they both came with labels in german if i remember correctly, one set was supplied via Braydons, and the other more recently came through my local motor factors.
If the bottom of the rear wing is getting frilly, i'd suggest doing you own repair. I've done it both ways, the first time i made up my own pieces, the second time i "treated" myself to "lower rear corner" repair panels. The time i spent with hammer and dollies in between bursts of mig, i wish i'd saved my money and just shaped my own metal. If it's really gone far up the rear wing then a full repair panel may be quicker and tidier, but i've not seen one that far gone, even my 262 wasn't that bad! Rich |

Dont rely on Hadrian too heavily. Although they list front wings for my '75 244 in their catalogue, they aren't available any more. The same applies for many other parts they "list" for my car

Try Brookhouse Volvo 01473218806 - they can be quite helpful. Also although at a price Volvo are good for a lot of panels. I bought the panel for the estates that goes above the bumper - a very common rust area. At about £75 plus the VAT I felt it was excellent value for money for a perfect repair in much less time than trying to make something.
