I’ve been using Pirelli Scorpion verde all seasons since October on 255/55/19s.
I’ve been very pleased. They’re quiet, very stable on lateral grip and under braking. Standing water is dispersed really well. I’ve been very pleased, although to be fair they’re not the cheapest, think I paid about £150 a corner, fitted.

Default Goodyear Wrangler HP BUT MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT ONES

Hi, I am on my second set of the above, first set were the XL version which are for a higher load vehicle and the car returned 31mpg. I needed to change them a few months back and the garage could only get the standard load version. 2 months in and the car will only return 26mpg. I thought I should want you all.

That name is funny. Sounds like the tyres they use on Mario Kart....

Just seen these on line with National Tyre Services fully fitted for £125 a corner, hopefully will get the new rubber this weekend if the snow doesn't stop me!

I urgently need to replace two tyres on my XC90.

Car has 17" wheels - so 235/65 R17

Right now all tyres are Nokian WeatherProof SUV 235/65R17 108 H XL, but only two are worn so should I just get two more Nokian, or can I mix and match fronts with other make etc ?

Presumably as the Nokian are an all season (winter) tyre I need to ensure the 2 replacements are also all season / winter ?

If I do mix - what's the best recommendation. I used to have Vredstein Wintrac 4 Extreme but can't see these any more (hence went with Nokian 2 1/2 years ago)

Thanks

Afternoon,Trump, If you get a minute, have a look at 'TyreShopper' on line, they are part of National tyre and Autocare, I should imagine. You get the tyres on line from tyre shopper, they deliver them to your chosen National tyre depot, and they fit them for you at a date & time of your choice.

I saved a few quid the last time I did it this way.

Regards,Keith.

Thanks Keith

I looked at Tyreshopper and although their deal was pretty good, going direct through National Tyres on-line got me a further promotional discount of about 25% (limited period), but it's good to know there are options.

I also found out (after mine were fitted) that Asda do tyres on-line and use HiQ (national chain) as their local fitting centres, which is right next door to my work. The prices were on a par with all the main on-line retailers, with free delivery to the fitters or your home. Had I known sooner I might have used them as the extra few quid spent would have been worth not wasting Saturday morning at a fitting centre on the other side of town!

I happy to report that the tyres are performing very well especially in the wet and are much quieter that the continentals they replaced.
