Default Maximum wheel/tyre size? XC70

Hi There,

Car in question is a 2008 XC70 with factory 18" Minos alloys and 235/50 R18 tyres.

Would 235/60 R18 tyres fit - does anyone know if I would get wheel rub or grounding?

Reason for the question is my XC90 and XC60 take that size of tyre... I gather the XC60 wheels will fit directly so I might just flip them at the weekend to try. I know it will affect the speedo but I can adjust that.

I know the difference will be 23mm in radius.

The wheels on xc60 and xc70 are fully interchangeable but, to me, 23mm is a huge difference in overall radius. I would be very surprised if you did not get wheel rub on full lock.
Apart from the speedo under-reading it will also negatively affect you gearing, i.e acceleration will be even slower.

The wheel arcs are bigger on the XC60.
I've not used any bigger than 235/50 18" or 235/55 17" on my two XC70 cars.
